Welcome to the Blue Lagoon Villa, named after the famous Blue Lagoon beach at Oludeniz on the southwest Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Frommer's® Travel Guide describes it as "probably the most beautiful beach on the eastern Mediterranean". This breathtaking aerial view was taken while paragliding. And those turquoise waters are indeed crystal clear.
The Blue Lagoon Villa is conveniently located between Oludeniz and Fethiye, 6 miles (10 km) to the north of Oludeniz. Shops, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance in the charming hill resort of Hisaronu at the foot of Babadag (Mount Baba), the renowned paragliding venue.
Come stay at the Blue Lagoon Villa and enjoy a holiday in a precious place that has just the right combination of foreign charm, unspoiled beauty and tourist amenities. Each time of the year has something to offer. March and April are great for those who like to avoid the crowds to explore the natural beauty of the area. The winter rains have typically gone leaving a lush green landscape everywhere. Warm days and cool evenings are the norm. By May Hisaronu is coming to life. Numerous well-priced restaurants offering a superb range of food for all tastes have opened. (Choose from Italian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, to traditional Turkish cuisine or, if you prefer, good old English.) But one can still avoid the bustle and enjoy peaceful excursions such as a boat trip to nearby Butterfly Valley.
July and August are family fun time. And there is plenty for everyone to do daytime and nighttime. Some are happy to laze all day in the warm crystal-clear waters at Oludeniz and dance and karaoke all night. By September the tourist season is winding down. Now is a great time to get real bargains on traditional Turkish handcrafts such as rugs, leather goods, pottery, glassware and wood carvings.
Oludeniz offers a choice of undeveloped Belcekiz Beach with its long stretches of white sands and turquoise waters and the cliffs of Babadag towering impressively above, or the stunning beauty of the Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is tucked inside a nature preserve, and reached either by following the beach around the sandbar that hides the lagoon from the sea, or by taking the scenic trail carpeted with pine needles through the woods.
There are plenty of unspoiled coves nearby that are accessible by foot, car or boat from Oludeniz. The "12 Island" day excursion from Fethiye offers plenty of opportunities for swimming and snorkeling. For those who prefer to remain on dry land, Calis beach on the north side of Fethiye has plenty of tourist amenities and offers spectacular sunsets over the "12 Islands" across Fethiye Bay. In addition there are many other picturesque coves and beautiful stretches of sand along the coast to Kas for those who wish to explore.
This beautiful, spacious, villa sits on the hillside on the eastern edge of Hisaronu. It is located adjacent to government parkland and offers panoramic views of Babadag looming above to the southeast, the glistening sea beyond Oludeniz to the south, and beautiful sunsets behind the hills to the west. The large covered verandas offer shelter from the sun whilst enabling you to take in the landscape or activities around the private swimming pool.
The villa has six bedrooms as well as sofa beds in two large lounge areas. Up to sixteen people can be comfortably accommodated at one time, making the villa ideal for large family get-togethers or club trips. The villa comprises two separate three-bedroom suites each of which sleeps eight people. Either suite may be let individually instead of the entire villa. To ensure exclusive use of the swimming pool, only the Upper Suite or Lower Suite will be let at one time.
